Simple Present

We use the simple present to describe habitual actions that happen all the time:

I love American films.

The shops open at 11:00 and close at 8:00.

We do a lot of things in our free time.

But when we use the third person singular (he, she, it) we add the endings –s, -es or –ies to the main verb:

He likes reading.

The Earth goes round the Sun.

My sister  cries for anything.
